VerifiedPhones is a marketplace for buying and selling mobile phones in Pakistan. We know that your phone number and personal details matter to you, and that misuse of personal information is a real concern in Pakistan. This page explains, in plain words, what we collect, why, who can see it and what control you have. We handle your information in line with the laws of Pakistan, including the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016.

1. What we collect

• Account details: your name, email address, mobile number and city. For shop accounts, also the shop name, address and description.
• Google sign-in: if you sign in with Google, we receive only your name and email address. We never see your Google password and never post anything for you.
• Your ads: the phone details, photos, price and area you choose to publish.
• Messages: messages you send to other members through the site.
• Reviews and reports you write.
• Activity counts: how often ads are viewed, saved, called or messaged, so sellers can see how their ads perform.
• Security information: the IP address of every visitor, the approximate city and country it comes from (looked up with the ipwho.is service), your browser type, the pages you open and the buttons you press.

We do not ask for your CNIC, bank account or card details, and we never ask for your passwords or one-time codes. If anyone claiming to be us asks for them, it is a scam.

2. Why we use it

• To create and run your account and show your ads.
• To let interested buyers contact you, and to let you contact sellers.
• To send you account emails, such as your sign-up code and important notices.
• To detect and stop fake ads, scams, spam, hacking attempts and abuse, including blocking IP addresses that misuse the site.
• To improve the site, using overall counts rather than looking at individuals.
• To meet our legal duties under Pakistani law.

3. Who can see your information

• Everyone can see your ads, your name or shop name, your city and area, and shop reviews.
• Only signed-in members can see your phone number and WhatsApp button. Guests cannot, which protects you from spam callers.
• Our team can see account and ad details to review ads and handle reports.
• Service providers who help us run the site, such as our hosting company, email service, Google (for sign-in, and for visitor statistics if switched on) and ipwho.is. They may only use the information to provide their service to us.
• Authorities: we may share information with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, the police or other law enforcement agencies when Pakistani law requires it, or when needed to investigate fraud or protect someone's safety.

We never sell your personal information and we do not share your number with advertisers.

4. How long we keep it

• Page and click history is deleted automatically after 30 days.
• Ads stay until you delete them. Sold and expired ads stay in your dashboard so you can see your history.
• Account details stay while your account is open. When you ask us to close your account, we delete or anonymise your information, except where we must keep some records by law or to deal with an open fraud complaint.

5. Cookies

We use small cookies to keep you signed in, remember your choices and protect forms from misuse. If statistics are switched on, Google Analytics also uses cookies to count visits. You can block cookies in your browser, but you will not be able to sign in.

6. Keeping it safe

Our site uses an encrypted connection (https), passwords are stored in a scrambled form that even we cannot read, and access to member data is limited to our team. No website can be 100% secure, so please use a strong password and never share it.

7. Your choices and rights

• You can edit your name, city and shop details from your profile at any time.
• You can delete any of your ads from your dashboard.
• You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to close your account and delete your data, including anything received from Google. You can ask for deletion yourself on our Delete my account page.

8. Children

VerifiedPhones is for adults. People under 18 may only use it with a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and show a notice for important changes.
