How to Write a Mobile Ad Description That Sells

A good description answers buyers' questions before they ask. It saves you from answering the same messages again and again, and it brings serious buyers instead of time-wasters.

Start with a clear title

Your title should say exactly what you are selling:

Brand + model + storage + one key point

Examples:

iPhone 13 128GB PTA approved, battery 88%
Samsung Galaxy A55 8/256 with box and warranty
Redmi Note 13 Pro 8/256, like new

Avoid titles like "Urgent sale!!!" or "Best phone cheap". They tell the buyer nothing.

A simple description template

Copy this and fill it in:

Model and storage:
PTA status: Approved / Factory unlocked
Condition: Like new / Good / Has small scratches on the back
Battery: Health percentage or how long a charge lasts
Repairs: None / Screen replaced in 2025
Comes with: Box, charger, cable, receipt
Reason for selling: Upgrading / Got a new phone as a gift
Meet at: Your area or a well-known public place

Example description

"Selling my iPhone 13, 128GB, PTA approved. Battery health 88%. No repairs, Face ID and all cameras work perfectly. Small scratch on the back corner, shown in the photos. Comes with original box and cable. Selling because I upgraded. Can meet near Dolmen Mall Clifton."

Short, honest and complete. A buyer reading this knows exactly what they will get.

Mention faults honestly

If something is wrong, say it. A buyer who finds an unmentioned fault at the meeting will either walk away or push your price down hard. A buyer who already knows about it has accepted it. Honesty actually helps you get closer to your price.

Keep it short

Two to six lines is enough. Long paragraphs full of capital letters and emojis are hard to read on a phone.

Do not put your number in the description

Buyers can contact you through the ad's call, WhatsApp and chat buttons, and your number appears on the ad in the normal way. Numbers typed in the description get hidden for safety.
