Second Hand iPhone in Pakistan: Complete Buying Guide 2026

A second hand iPhone can save you a lot of money, and iPhones hold their value better than most phones in Pakistan. But used iPhones also come with special risks: iCloud locks, replaced parts, worn batteries and fake PTA status. This guide walks you through every check, in order.
Which used iPhone suits your budget?

Check 1: PTA status
Dial *#06# and send each IMEI to 8484. A non-PTA iPhone stops working on Pakistani SIMs after the temporary period unless the tax is paid, and that tax is high on iPhones. Read PTA tax on iPhone.
Watch out for JV and patched iPhones. They may work today and get blocked later.
Check 2: iCloud and Find My
- Go to Settings and tap the name at the top. It should be the seller's account, and they must sign out in front of you.
- Find My iPhone must be turned off.
- Then erase all content and settings and set it up as new.
Never accept "I'll remove iCloud later". An iCloud-locked iPhone is almost useless.
Check 3: Battery health
Go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health. As a guide:
- 90% or more - excellent
- 85 to 89% - fine
- Below 80% - budget for a battery replacement and negotiate the price down
Check 4: Replaced parts
Go to Settings > General > About. Newer iPhones show a Parts and Service History section if the screen, battery or camera was replaced. "Unknown part" means a non-genuine part.
Also check:
- True Tone is available in Display settings.
- Face ID works first time.
- All cameras focus and the flash works.
Check 5: Physical condition
- Look for dents on the frame and cracks on the back glass.
- Test speakers, microphones, buttons and the charging port.
- Check the screen for dead spots, lines or pink tints.
Check 6: Box and IMEI match
