Why old iPhones still sell

What decides the price

2. Battery health. Older iPhones often have lower battery health. Above 85% is a strong point. Below 80%, buyers expect a discount, or a battery replacement.
3. Storage. 64GB versions are harder to sell today. 128GB and above are easier.
4. Original parts. Replaced screens or batteries lower value. iOS shows this in Settings, then General, then About.
5. Face ID. Must work. A broken Face ID is a big price drop.
6. Box. Adds value and trust.

Should you replace the battery first?
If battery health is very low, a battery replacement at a reliable shop can make the phone easier to sell. But iOS may show a message about a non-genuine battery, which some buyers dislike. Often it is better to sell honestly with the current battery health clearly stated and let the buyer decide.
Sell now or keep it?
- Sell now if you have upgraded and the phone is sitting unused. Older iPhones lose a little value every month, and a big drop comes each September when new iPhones launch.
- Keep it if it still works well for you and you do not need the money. It can also make a great backup or family phone.
Remove iCloud first
