Used iPhone 16 Pro Max Price in Pakistan: What to Pay and What to Check

A used PTA-approved iPhone 16 Pro Max usually sells for around Rs 300,000 to Rs 450,000 in Pakistan, depending on storage, battery health and condition. Non-PTA units are much cheaper, often by a lakh or more, and JV units cheaper still, but each comes with its own risks.

These are rough ranges, not quotes. iPhone prices in Pakistan move with the dollar rate, new stock and PTA tax rules, and they usually drop a little each time a new iPhone arrives. Used iPhone 16 Pro Max price by storage

The iPhone 16 Pro Max starts at 256GB, so there is no 128GB version. As a rough guide for phones in good condition with battery health above 85%:

256GB PTA approved: usually around Rs 300,000 to Rs 360,000
512GB PTA approved: usually around Rs 340,000 to Rs 400,000
1TB PTA approved: usually around Rs 380,000 to Rs 450,000

Phones with a box, original cable and no repairs sit at the top of these ranges. Phones with dents, a replaced screen or battery health below 80% sit at the bottom or below.

PTA, non-PTA and JV: what the price difference means

PTA approved. Works with any Pakistani SIM permanently. Highest price, but the safest buy and the easiest to resell.
Non-PTA (factory unlocked). Usually around Rs 70,000 to Rs 120,000 cheaper than a PTA unit of the same storage. It only works with a Pakistani SIM for the temporary period unless you pay the PTA tax. Fine if you mostly use Wi-Fi or an eSIM from abroad.
JV (jailbreak or patched). The cheapest, but it relies on a workaround that can stop working after an update or get blocked. We don't recommend it for a phone this expensive.

About the PTA tax: it is based on the phone's customs value, is higher when you register on a CNIC than on a passport, and is paid through PTA's DIRBS system and your bank. For a Pro Max in the top value slab it has typically been a very large amount, as a rough ballpark often well over Rs 1 lakh, and more on CNIC. Battery health and what it means for price

Go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health. On the iPhone 16 Pro Max you can also see the cycle count under Settings > General > About.

90% or more: excellent, worth paying near the top of the range
85 to 89%: normal for a phone this age, a fair price
80 to 84%: ask for a discount
Below 80% or "Service": budget for a battery replacement and negotiate hard

A message saying the battery is not genuine means it was replaced with a non-Apple part. That should lower the price a lot.

What to check on a used iPhone 16 Pro Max

iCloud. The seller must sign out of their Apple ID and turn off Find My in front of you, then erase the phone. Never accept "I'll remove it later".
IMEI and PTA. Dial *#06#, send the IMEI to 8484, and match it with the box and Settings. See how to check if a phone is stolen.
Parts and Service History. Under Settings > General > About, any replaced screen, battery or camera is listed. "Unknown part" means non-genuine.
Face ID and True Tone. Both should work. If not, the phone has likely been opened.
Cameras. Test the main, ultrawide and 5x telephoto, plus the Camera Control button on the side.
Frame and glass. Check the titanium frame for dents and the back glass for cracks.
