Why Is My Phone Ad Not Getting Calls? 9 Fixes
31 Jul 2026 · 2 min read
Your ad is live, but the phone is quiet. Do not worry. It is almost always one of a few simple problems, and each has a simple fix.
1. The price is too high
This is the number one reason. Compare your price with live ads for the same model, storage, PTA status and condition. If yours is clearly above the rest, buyers skip it. Lower it a little. Read how to price a used phone.
2. The photos are poor
Dark, blurry or internet photos make buyers scroll past. Retake them in daylight on a plain background. See phone ad photos that sell.
3. The title is vague
"Urgent sale" or "Good phone" tells the buyer nothing and does not appear in searches. Use: brand, model, storage and one key point. For example: "iPhone 14 128GB PTA approved, battery 90%".
4. Important details are missing
Buyers want PTA status, storage, condition and battery. If they are missing, many will not bother to ask. Use our ad description template.
5. You reply too slowly
Buyers message several sellers at once. The first to reply usually wins. Turn on notifications and reply within minutes when you can.
6. Wrong city or area
Make sure your city is correct. Buyers search locally and want to meet nearby.
7. The phone is non-PTA but priced like PTA
Non-PTA phones need a much lower price. See selling a non-PTA phone.
8. Too many similar ads
Popular budget models have many sellers. Stand out with a sharper price, better photos and a free health test report, which makes buyers trust your ad more.
9. Bad timing
Right after a new model launches, many people sell the old one. You may need to price a little lower, or wait a few weeks. See the best time to sell.
Still no luck?
Try changing one thing at a time, starting with the price, and give it two or three days. If you need to sell quickly, consider an auction, which can create competition between buyers. Read how to sell by auction.
